Conceptual Architecture
A systems view of the proposed Redoxoflavin Regulatory Protein (RFR).
Figure A. Sensor → Controller → Effector with negative feedback (set-point restoration).
Modules
- Sensor: flavin-binding domain sensitive to redox state and/or electron pressure.
- Controller: hysteresis (distinct ON/OFF thresholds) plus an integrator to respond to sustained drift.
- Effector: activation of endogenous programs rather than direct chemical forcing.
- Shutdown: degron/kill-switch logic to disengage once homeostasis returns.
Design constraints
- Closed-loop control (avoid constant activation).
- Prevent oscillation and overcorrection.
- Prioritize safety and reversibility in early prototypes.
